May 8, 2012

During this winter I would walk my dog down the alleys in my neighbourhood, the alleys are less windy, I started to realize that this would be great material to paint. So many different shapes, colors, great perspective and paint what your know, right?  I know these alleys (twice a day I walk my dog)  After one of the many storms we had in Edmonton this past year I went out and took lots of photos. Here is one of those paintings I did in oil today. I always have plenty of reference material on hand just in case I can't decide what to paint on any' particular day. These alleys are really great and I find things.  The other day I found a perfectly good guitar, it was even almost in tune except for the "g" string was a steel string instead of a nylon like the rest of them. My husband was amazed. Hey, don't be getting a picture that I dig in the garbage back there. This guitar was very obvious and just leaning up against the garbage can.
